The US wellness economy has reached $2.1 trillion—cementing its position as the global leader and signaling a powerful shift toward proactive, personalized wellbeing.

New data from the Global Wellness Institute, developed in partnership with Fountain Life, highlights both the scale and momentum of this growth across sectors—from wellness real estate to mental wellness and personalized medicine.

Key findings:

The US wellness economy grew 7.9% from 2018–2024, ranking among the world’s fastest-growing markets and leading in 9 of 11 wellness sectors
Per capita wellness spending surpassed $6,000, reaching $6,293 in 2024
The sector now represents 7.33% of US GDP
